You talked about it, you understand it, now release its grip on you.

In-Person EMDR Therapy in Chicago and Virtual EMDR Counseling in ALL of Illinois.

You’ve tried talking about it. You’ve tried logic. But the feeling of being "stuck" remains.

Our Chicago-based EMDR therapy helps your nervous system finish processing what your mind alone cannot resolve.

Does it feel like you’re "white-knuckling" your way through life?

Maybe you’re the one who holds everything together on the outside, but on the inside:

  • You’re exhausted from over-explaining your feelings but never feeling "better."

  • You know logically you’re safe, but your body still reacts like you’re in danger.

  • You’re swallowing your truth to keep the peace, and it’s costing you your peace of mind.

  • You feel like you’re one wrong move away from everything falling apart.

Don’t let the cost of therapy deter you from getting the help you deserve!

We offer 100% FREE consultations to answer your questions and help you decide whether EMDR is the right fit for you.

In our practice, we believe every person has the right to healthy mental wellness. Our sessions are designed to be affordable for everyone, with sessions with Meg Doster at just $250/session.

& to further assist our clients with the cost of therapy, we can submit bills to Mentaya, which can often provide up to 80% reimbursement for claims. Learn more about this option in your free consultation!

A new way to heal.

If you’ve been in therapy before, you know the routine: you talk about the past, you analyze your childhood, and you leave with a lot of "insight"—but the same heavy feeling in your chest.

EMDR is different. It’s a specialized approach that moves the work from your logical brain down into your nervous system. It’s designed to help you "file away" old hurts so they stop acting like current threats.

Why EMDR works when talk therapy feels stuck:

  • You don't have to relive every detail. Unlike traditional exposure therapy, you don't need to describe your darkest moments out loud for 50 minutes. We focus on the feeling and the belief while your brain does the heavy lifting of processing.

  • It targets the "Body Memory." Have you ever felt fine one minute, then suddenly your heart is racing, and you're "on edge" for no clear reason? That’s your nervous system. EMDR helps "reset" those triggers so your body finally gets the memo that you are safe.

  • It’s Efficient (and Effective). We are working with the way your brain naturally stores information; many people experience shifts in weeks that would have taken years of talking.

  • You stay in control. We go at your pace. We build your "internal toolkit" first, ensuring you feel grounded and safe before we ever dive into the deeper processing.

My name is Meg, and I work with people who feel stuck

People overwhelmed by shame, anger, and anxiety, who carry a deep fear of being intimately known. That fear of being known, and what might happen if you are, makes complete sense. And is achingly human. But here's what I've also learned: there's courage and freedom waiting on the other side of the things we're most afraid of. Whether it’s individual or couple’s counseling, the path to deeper connection with yourself and others runs straight through the mess . . . not around it.

I'm an Enneagram 1, which means I've spent a good chunk of my life trying to get everything "right" and “good.” When I'm not in the therapy chair I'm probably cooking something that takes way longer than it should, trying a new recipe I'll inevitably tweak, or reminding myself that feeding people (including myself) is an act of care. I'm a recovering people pleaser who used to think conflict was the worst thing that could happen in a relationship. Turns out, avoiding it was actually worse. Like most people, I still struggle with boundaries sometimes. But I've learned that maintaining them opens up way more freedom and connection than living without them ever did.

And I’m here to help you do the same.

If you're exhausted from playing it safe, swallowing your truth to keep the peace, or feeling like no one really knows you, you're my people.
